Tag, I'm It

Okay, thanks to Mike Synder , I've been tagged to play seven sevens. So here's my list. You know, doesn't thinking qualify as labor on the Sabbath? Okay, okay, we won't be legalistic here. Still, friends don't make friends think when they're tired. :) Consider that fair warning for whatever nonsense might follow.

Seven Things to Do Before I Die

1. Write a book I'm actually happy with (I'd love to say get published, but that's not something I can do)
2. Go to Europe
3. Go to the Holy Land
4. See my kids get married and have their own kids (now that would be justice)
5. Find time to finish all the projects I start
6. Learn to play another instrument
7. Tour the United States in an RV and see all the places I've only read about

Seven Things I Cannot Do

I cannot...
1. Give a short answer to a question (anyone who I e-mail can testify to this)
2. Stand still with my eyes closed without toppling over
3. Resist at least thinking a sarcastic remark when someone says something completely inane. And sometimes I utter it.
4. Go anywhere without a book
5. Sit still for any length of time
6. Jump out of a perfectly good airplane
7. Manage to NOT sing in the car. And sometimes the grocery store.

Seven Things that Attract Me to My Husband

1. His gorgeous eyes
2. His cute smile
3. He thinks I'm funny (both ha ha and the weird kind) and loves me anyway
4. He listens to me talk. For a really long time :)
5. He's a great father.
6. He reads my writing and actually has constructive things to say
7. He unconditionally supports my writing and does amazing things to make it happen

Seven Things I Say Most Often

1. Really
2. That's going to leave a bruise (on me, not my kids)
3. Get down from there.
4. Get out of the (cupboards, refrigerator, pantry, dog's bowl, cat box, toilet)
5. Leave your sister alone (can you tell I have a very active boy?)
6. This sucks
7. Good job.
8. Where's my Diet Coke? I need more Diet Coke. Are we out? Again?

Seven Books I Love

Okay this really isn't a fair question. It totally depends on what mood I'm in. Do I want something fun? Light? Serious? Scary? Something so well-written I'll give up ever being that good of a writer? Did I also mention I have a sieve for a brain? I can't remember what I read last week. Okay, how about I just make this a random list of books I like that I can remember off the top of my head? Did you see my answer about my inability to give a short answer?
1. The Anne of Green Gables series
2. Little Women
3. Anything Shakespeare (plays and sonnets)
4. Dee Henderson's O'Malley and Uncommon Heroes series
5. Terri Blackstock's Cape Refuge series
6. Peace Like a River
7. Okay, seems logical to put the Bible here, but to me that's kind of like saying I love oxygen and water. Pretty much a necessity. And probably a bunch of other books that if I'd just get up out of this chair and walk over to the bookshelves ... oh forget it.
* Ooh, almost forgot. It's not in print yet, but some of the best stuff I've read in a while. My Name is Russell Fink. Now what was the author's name? Hmm. Mike somebody? :)

Seven Movies I Would Watch Over and Over Again
By necessity, if I want to see a complete movie, I generally have to watch it over and over again because of the interruptions. I'm glad this question didn't say Seven Movies I HAVE Watched Over and Over Again, because they'd be mostly kids' movies. The background video to my life :)
1. Help! I can't even think of seven movies I like. And I don't generally like watching movies over again, though I do read books over again. Partly that brain-is-a-sieve thing. Partly cuz I don't get out much. Lots of sympathy here, please.
2. Okay, Ocean's Eleven was good. Didn't see the twist coming which is always a good thing.
3. Bourne Identity (nice plot)
4. Bourne Supremacy (Matt Damon's cute)
5. Merchant and Ivory films, mostly because I can't remember what happened in any of them outside of the fact that Helena Bonham Carter is in them and the costuming is good.
6. BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. Do like that one a lot
7. Remains of the Day. Liked that a lot.

Seven People I Want to Join in Too

1. Jenny Cary
2. Diana Brandmeyer
3. Julie Lessman
4. Paula Moldenhauer
5. Peg Rose
6. Malia Spencer
7. Sabrina Butcher

Just saw that Dineen Miller tagged me, too, at her blog. I'm feeling so loved :) And she had some good answers that I wish I'd stolen.

Awww, thanks Jennifer. I love what you said about the Bible. I totally agree. I guess I don't think of it as a book. It's so much more.

Now your seven things you say list is really scary, girl! LOL! Yeah, Bourne Identity was a good one. Wish I thought of that. The girl in that was good in "Run, Lola, Run" too. Interesting movie...

You are in such trouble, girl! Okay, I've posted my seven sevens to my blog so if anyone is curious, come on over.
And in the immortal words of the wicked witch, "I'll get you my pretty and your little dog, too." (yeah, yeah, I've met Charlie and I know;-)
Love ya!
Jenny

Jen, It was so much reading your sevens!!! Your list is a lot more exciting than mine would be. I'm afraid my movies/books would all be gushy romance, beginning with ... yes, you guessed it ... Gone with the Wind!
Love ya,
Julie

I assume I'm to post here, as I don't have a blog.

Man I am so bad at these things... =) but here goes.

Seven Things to Do Before I Die

1. Write a book that I don't think is total garbage.
2. Write a book that touches someone. Something DEEP!
3. Take my sister in law on a tour of Europe. (my husband has no desire to go and she'll be more fun anyway)
4. Get to the point where I don't roll my eyes when my mother is speaking to me. Seriously.
5. Take some obscure classes at the local college just to broaden my horizons. Whatever that means. ;)
6. Organize my photo albums to more than a rubbermaid container in the attic with pictures tossed in.
7. Clean all the places I never clean in case I die and someone comes in my house to help my husband out.

Seven Things I Cannot Do

1. Tour the United States in an RV and see all the places I've only read about. (Jen reminded me how much I hate camping)
2. Go anywhere whithout my hand sanitizer. Can you believ my husband will sit down at a restaurant and not take me up on using my sanitizer. He does it just for spite.
3. I can't stand still at church. I find myself swaying.
4. Clean up any type of animal waste. I am so thankful for my husband.
5. I could never go on Survivor. Even though I would love it, because if I had a choice between starving and using eating utensils after one another I would starve.
I'm an only child and we did not share anything! Blah--
6. I can't see anything without my contacts.
7. I can't not check my email every 5 minutes when I'm working. It's a sickness I know.

Seven Things that Attract Me to My Husband

1. He stays around even though he's seen me in the morning. Wow. He either loves me or has no other options.
2. He works super hard for us to have nice things. Not that we ask. He just does it.
3. Sometimes when I'm really mad at him and I'm spouting off, he'll just laugh at me. I don't know why, but it's endearing.
4. He's met my family and again he stays.
5. He loves our son so much.
6. Because he rubs my feet. I know it's gross, but he does it and I love him for it.
7. Because he shovels the elderly neighbors drive
Seven Things I Say Most Often

1. You are such a dork. (I know, I'm ashamed)
2. I am so going to beat you. (Which I never do)
3. Whatever
4. That's Brilliant. (it becomes less brilliant when you say it so often)
5. You are kidding me. (which I find most times they are not kidding you)
6. Oh, I have mail. Yeah
7. Really?

Seven Books I Love

1. The Velveteen Rabbit (It makes me cry. My eyes are teary right now just thinking about it)
2. The O'Malley Series, Dee Henderson. Great Series.
3. The Chronicles of Narnia thanks to my fifth grade teacher. She got me hooked.
4. Anything by Deb Raney
5. Shattered Justice, Karen Ball. Awesome.
6. Reunion Series by Kingsbury
7. Dead of Night, Brandilyn Collins. (I love when a book can surprise me. She did a great job in this one. I had no idea who it was)

Seven Movies I Would Watch Over and Over

1. I loved my Big Fat Greek Wedding
2. Sabrina the original
3. Bourne Identity & Supremacy
4. I used to watch Gone With the Wind every year. Don't have the time anymore.
5. Multiplicity. My husband and I laugh at that movie no matter how many times we've watched it.
6. Bond movies with Brosnan even though now I can't stand him as an individual, but I still love him as Bond.
7. Oceans 11 and 12. It's so hard not to like a movie with all those pretty boys in it. Again ashamed that I admitted that. =)

Seven People I'd like to join. I honestly can't do this. The seven people I could ask have already been tagged. Does anyone hear the tune to It's a small world after all?

Thanks Jen, that was fun, and painful at the same time. ;)

Dineen, my house can definitely be scary at times! I have baby locks on every door and the refrigerator and still that boy gets into stuff. Partly because of that brain-like-a-sieve thing, I forget and leave stuff open.

But then again, he gets into plenty of trouble on his own. Just an hour ago he came downstairs. "Mom, I have candy in my nose." Sure enough. Nerds up his nose. Why? Which leads to another thing I say all the time and forgot to mention. I tell Peter, "He gets that from you."

Sabrina, funny answers! We visited a church once where NO ONE moved while they sang. Crossed that one off the list.

Jenny knows better than to mess with Charlie. The dog's bigger than she is. He'll lick her to death :)

Thanks for playing, guys, um, gals.

Pictures of Sedona go up in a day or two. Depends on how soon everyone gets well around here.

Ummm . . . I just got tagged for something else and I'm dying to blog about the new Pride and Prejudice, so how about I just answer some of those sevens things right here:

7 Things I say often:
1) Boys, take it downstairs or outside
2) Boys, quiet! I can't hear
3) Ice cream? Have you had anything healthy yet?
4) Help, Lord!
5) Break? What do you have left of school?
6) No. I need my computer
7) I love you, too.

The books thing is already on my site in a way, so I'll skip that one. Hmmm . . . think I'll put the 7's question about my hubby on the blog with Pride and Prejudice. That should be interesting.

How about my 7 movies?
1)BBC Pride and Prejudice
2)Emma (Hollywood, not BBC)
3)Persuasion (BBC)
4)Sense and Sensibility (Hollywood)
5)new Pride and Prejudice
6)Mansfield Park
7)And a bunch of others that AREN'T based on Jane Austen books. LOL

I'd do a partial tag on my blog, too, okay?

Ooh, I'd forgotten all the other Jane Austen movies. And aren't boys just totally different creatures from girls? My son does stuff my daughter would never do.

I love the BOURNE movies...then again, I like action! LOL But the traveling via RV???? UGH

Robin, I'm in mourning with you over your computer. How are you going to survive? Good time to get caught up on all that reading, though.

Anyhow, RVing certainly beats camping. Our family used to do a big family reunion every Thanksgiving and we'd go camping for 4 days. The kids loved it. Lots of dirt.

But it reminds me of one thing I forgot to add to the list of things to do before I die: hike part of the Pacific Crest Trail.
