History for 100, Alex

I saw this on Georgiana's blog and it cracked me up. Since I have a Bachelor's in history I had to take it.

You Passed 8th Grade US History

Congratulations, you got 7/8 correct!

Whew! It'd be kind of embarrassing if I didn't pass. Of course now I'm wondering which question I missed. I have a suspicion it was one of their questions that I thought was wrong anyway!

Well.

I tried over and over and kept getting 3/8.

I got 6 out of 8. I know one of them I got wrong was the impeached president. I can't figure out the other one I got wrong.
Oh. I just looked it up. The confederate state one. I said Arkansas cuz I didn't think any of the others fit. I guess the answer is west virginia, although west virginia later was.

Andrew Johnson was impeached because he totally botched Reconstruction.

I think I missed the Confederate state one. I know West Virginia separated from Virginia over the Union. However, I couldn't remember when Texas entered the Union. I know they sympathized with the south, but for some reason, I can't picture them in the war. I keep thinking they were an independent state then. If that is the case, the quiz is wrong. Anyhow.

Glad you passed! Some of us, not so lucky. OK, maybe luck has nothing to do with it. I'm using your defense--one of their questions was wrong ;)
